Workshop Proposals 2014
Miles R. Johnson KyAEA Fall 2014 Conference Art Teacher ology

Hello KyAEA Members, the theme “Art Teacher ology” is a time to reflect back on things that made art room experiences great from years past. Does anyone remember using library paste to glue things? Some may have stories of a “Visiting Art Teacher” that came to their school for so many days out of the year to do crafts with the students that may have been in a remote location.

One of my earliest memories is the snow globe and glitter made from baby food jars. A rite of passage of course was the macaroni necklace for many of us.  Are paper bag puppets out of vogue forever? Good lesson planning can revive many projects from years past or combined with a modern twist.

All ranges of workshops dealing from the past to modern now will certainly be considered. Modern style workshops, computer technology and current issues for discussion are welcomed.  A range of workshops that will show where we came from to where we are now would be a wonderful experience for all. Dig out some ideas!! Please feel free to email me with any questions. It is exciting to be part of such a wonderful group!!!!

Calling All Artists and Regional Groups!!!!!

We need your baskets for our silent auction for KyAEA conference this fall! If you know what your region will be doing their basket theme on please pass on the information as soon as possible to Shelly Clark so that she can send it out to everyone.

Shelly Clark needs a list of what is in your basket and an approximate value to it so that she can have papers ready for the bidders before conference.

Those of you at colleges - could you please see if you could get basket items donated from your college to create extra baskets?

Artists/ teachers - we would love to see everyone donate one item for the silent auction. You have awesome work out there. Take a tax deduction and donate a piece. If you have a picture of your work ahead of time it would be great for others to see it early.

Thanks for your support for KyAEA in advance!
Any questions please contact Shelly as soon as possible: shelly.clark@warren.kyschools.us
